The previous Chairman of the Board of DB Port Szczecin - Manfred Michel held the position since 1 August 2010. ‘In the five-year period of his leadership the company successfully completed the restructuring process, enhanced its market position and became a key handling terminal for the Scandinavia-South Europe connections,’ reminds a press release of DB Port Szczecin.

Manfred Michel was appointed Senior Consultant Region East in DB Schenker Rail and member of the Supervisory Board of DB Port Szczecin.

DB Port Szczecin, owned by DB Schenker Rail Poland, provides handling services covering containers and general cargo (granite, cellulose, steel products, heavy and oversized items). It is connected with the North Sea and the Baltic Sea ports.
Thanks to the collaboration with Unifeeder operators (small container ships), CMA-CGM and Tschudi, the port has gained container ship connection with Finland (Helsinki), Lithuania (Klaipeda), Norway (Drammen), Denmark (Esbjerg), Great Britain (Immingham) and the Netherlands (Rotterdam).

At present, the annual capacity of the container terminal has reached 120 thousand TEU. Another significant achievement was the implementation of the Autostore system, which has reduced the average administration processing time per one container to four hours at maximum.
