ZRFPK was founded by West Pomeranian province and Koszalińska Regional Development Agency on 03 June 2002. Among its shareholders there is Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego holding almost half of its shares, and Polish Entrepreneurs’ Foundation. The Fund guarantees loans for companies that would not otherwise obtain funds for business development because for instance, they have no credit record.

Currently the Fund acts as an agent of JEREMIE in West Pomerania and provides guarantees from those resources.
“The sum of PLN 80 million of loans guaranteed from JEREMIE have already been awarded to entrepreneurs. This money mainly finances small enterprises and start-ups that could find it difficult to obtain bank loans. However, our guarantee renders it possible.” – states Adam Badach, the President of ZRFPK’s Management Board.

JEREMIE usually helps finance commercial and service providing companies that apply for loan guarantees ranging from several dozen to one hundred thousand zlotys. The funds are used for opening new sales outlets, marketing new products, purchases of delivery trucks. In the past the applications concerned for instance, construction of cold storage at a fishing port in Kołobrzeg, building a kindergarten and guesthouse refurbishment.

“The Fund’s plans for the future are interrelated with the strategy followed by West Pomeranian province, which means that we will focus on innovative investments.” – assures Adam Badach.

The 10th anniversary of ZRFPK was celebrated at the Silver Hotel in Szczecin on 31 May 2012. A conference entitled: Synergy of Science and Business – Excellent Idea for Regional Innovation took place as part of the gala and it included a lecture entitled: Poland and the World – Pre-Crisis or Post-Crisis by Professor Grzegorz Kołodko.
