Diebold Nixdorf was established this year as a result of the merger of Diebold from the U.S and the German Wincor Nixdorf (Diebold acquired 75 per cent of Wincor Nixdorf's shares). In consequence, the combined company is now a global technology giant holding 65 per cent of market share, with a footprint in more than 130 countries and the headcount reaching 25 thousand employees. Diebold Nixdorf provides IT solutions and services to the banking sector and commercial networks (ATMs and payment clearing systems).

The Szczecin Branch is the second Polish and fifth global unit within the structures of the Global Customer Support Centre. It supports international projects by providing service request registration and first-line and second-line remote technical support (hardware and software issues) in the region of Eastern and Northern Europe.

“We are not an ordinary helpline − we function as a comprehensive customer support centre that offers various services, such as ATM repairs,” says Michał Lewicki, director of Diebold Nixdorf Szczecin Branch. “To ensure the highest quality of our services, we operate as a Solution Competency Centre which observes the following rule: if we do not manage to solve the customer's problem within a four-hour time window, we must pay a fine,” he adds.

Michał Lewicki points out that the Szczecin Branch has been established to support German-speaking customers, and that is why fluency in German is a necessary condition for all job candidates.

Diebold Nixdorf is currently seeking technical support specialists, mangers and HR professionals. The company guarantees supplementary training courses, study allowance, relocation packages, night-work allowance and − to quote the director of the company − higher pay than that offered by the competitors.

The Szczecin branch of Diebold Nixdorf has taken over responsibilities from the Dortmund branch of Wincor Nixdorf. Among others, it will provide support to: ALDI, BP, Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, Deutsche Bank, Sparkasse, Jysk, Commerzbank, Postbank, real, Adler, DHL, NORD/LB and EDEKA.

Mirosław Janik is at the helm of Wincor Nixdorf Sp. z o.o. and the company's Polish headquarters are in Warsaw, whereas the central home office is located in Ohio, the U.S. The total sales revenue of the combined companies equals USD 5.2 billion per annum, and the corporation plans to spend approximately USD 200 million on research and development every year. Diebold Nixdorf holds about 3 thousand patents and manufactures 150 thousand ATMs. At present it employs more than 1.5 thousand people in Poland (formerly in the employ of Wincor Nixdorf), over 500 of whom are programmers working in the Software Development Centre in Katowice (the company employs 1.7 thousand programmers worldwide).
