The hotel with 150 rooms will be erected near the Szczecin castle, at Panieńska Street, to replace a metal fencing surrounding the demolished Arkona hotel, which has marred the local landscape for the last six years.

According to Katarzyna Gronek from the press office of Orbis S.A., the hotel will operate under the ibis Styles brand: ‘The process of designing the architectural concept is in progress and we intend to develop a building permit design at the end of the year, when we will be able to determine the starting date of the investment process.

ibis Styles is a network of economy class hotels located in city centres. The brand was established in 2007 with 230 hotels operating worldwide and four facilities located in Poland (in Wałbrzych, Wrocław, Bielsko-Biała and Gdynia). Most of them are three-star franchises promoted as unstandardized, uniquely designed facilities.

The new Szczecin hotel will be operated by Orbis S.A.

The Orbis group operates ibis Budget, ibis and Novotel hotels in Szczecin. Orbis is controlled by a French company Accor, the owner of Sofitel, Pullman, Mgallery, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure and Adagio networks and economy class hotels, such as ibis, ibis Styles, ibis budget and hotelF1.
