The projects value is ca. PLN 100 million. As announced by Echo Investment, a Kielce-based owner of Galaxy, the project will change the shopping mall entirely. Upon its completion, the mall will offer almost 60 thousand sq.m. of retail space and feature 200 stores. Drivers will have access to the total of 1,500 parking places. A large fitness club and a number of clothing brands entering the local market will be a novelty.

 

The new Galaxy, as designed by the Open Architekci architectural firm, will be built around a spacious internal atrium featuring a stage that will be the center for numerous events planned at the mall. The entire building will be covered with a glass roof. The scope of the project will also include replacement of the whole elevation of the existing building.

 

According to Marek Gładki, Commercialization and Marketing Director, Shopping Center Division, Echo Investment, almost 60% of the space has already been leased. We have signed contracts with some of the key lessees. Galaxy will feature a flagship Reserved store in the region, extending over the area of 2.5 thousand sq.m., in addition to a two-story TK MAXX of the same size. Both these stores will have innovative, ten meter high windows. Apart from commerce, we will also focus on entertainment. The last story will feature a fitness club (Fabryka Formy) to complement the existing entertainment and recreational facilities, i.e. a cinema and a bowling alley, announced the director.

 

The construction project involves also traffic reorganization around Galaxy, by extending ul. Borysza to ul. Matejki.

The Galaxy shopping mall was opened 12 years ago. At present, it extends over the area of 42 thousand sq.m., features 170 stores and Multikino with nine cinema rooms as well as the Real hypermarket (Auchan). It is visited by 11 million shoppers a year.
