In mid-2014, the company Technologie Tworzyw Sztucznych bought a plot of land with a surface area of 15,000 sq. m situated in the Goleniów Industrial Park. The company is having two warehouses build with a total surface area of 4,000 sq. m.
‘Our company was running out of space (our manufacturing shop’s surface area is about 10,000 sq. m). Construction of the first heated warehouse will cost about 110,000 euros whereas the second one will cost 45,000’, says Rafał Remont from the company’s press office.
In addition to the acquisition of land and construction of warehousing space, the one-million-euro investment also includes expansion of the technical office and construction of a conference room (amounting to about EUR 65,000). ‘Protection of the environment is high on our priority list, so we decided to expand our ventilation system as well. We have the latest equipment at our disposal. We are one of the few companies in this country using the MIAB purification system purifying air of solvents and volatile organic compounds using activated carbon filters. We have earmarked about 450 thousand euros for that purpose’, says Rafał Remont.
At the same time, the company is developing an innovative IT system to manage its manufacturing, warehousing and accounting.
The company’s production output will grow as a result of the expansion. ‘It is hard to know now how much our production capacity will grow because it is impossible to make long-term sales projections in our line of business. We are certainly going to increase the capacity of our boat repair and finishing services, which currently amounts to about 60-70 per cent, depending on the boat type’, explains Rafał Remont.
The company Technologie Tworzyw Sztucznych was founded in 1995; at the very beginning the small manufacturer was located in Stargard Szczeciński and had less than 20 employees. In 2008, they moved to Łozienica in Goleniów Industrial Park. It is part of a German Hanse Group with its seat in Greifswald, one of the biggest yacht manufacturers in the world. The firm specialises in the manufacture of sail and motor boats made of synthetics. It has about 400 employees. In 2014, the company manufactured about 550 ocean-going yacht hulls. The yachts made by TTS can be seen in every corner of the world.
In Q4 2014, TTS hired over 100 new employees and is going to add 50 more its staff. Currently, they are looking for candidates for the following: a laminating specialist, fitter, logistics specialist, production planning specialist, product engineer, mold maker, welder/toolmaker and an internal transport specialist.
‘It is quite possible that when the investment is completed, we shall develop a training programme for laminating specialists. Today it is too early to discuss any details of such a training programme’, says the chairman Michał Pokorski.
