The shipyard has been sold

On 28 May, the liquidator concluded the shipyard’s assets sales agreement with Stichting Particulier Fonds Greenrights, acting on behalf of United International Trust N.V.

The auction of the Stocznia Szczecińska Nowa Sp. zo.o. assets took place on 15 and 16 May. During eleven tenders announced, ten assets were sold. Firma Stichting Particulier Fonds Greenrights won tenders no. 1, 3-7, 9.

Stichting Particulier Fonds Greenrights won tenders regarding the assets of Stocznia Gdynia S.A. for the net amount exceeding PLN 270 million, and the assets of Stocznia Szczecińska Nowa Sp. z o.o. for a net amount exceeding PLN 94 million.

The shipyard sale agreement shall come into effect following a formal administrative procedure.

”The agreements constitute another key step towards providing the biggest possible number of jobs in Stocznia Gdynia S.A. and Stocznia Szczecińska Nowa Sp. z o.o. The key investor, who purchased key assets of both shipyards maintains its intention to continue with ship construction, and plans to open up other operations at the same time”, says Wojciech Dąbrowski, Chairman of the Industrial Development Agency. “Soon, the investor shall meet the present shipyard management in order to agree the form of future assets management.”

The assets of Stocznia Szczecińska Nowa Sp z o.o. were sold in an open tender. The assets were sold at market price to the bidder offering the highest price. Acquirers of the assets become their owners free from encumbrances and shall not be liable for shipyard’s liabilities, including claims regarding provided public aid.

 

The question who is represented by the company that won the tender remains unanswered. According to the latest reports, a Qatar investor may be involved.
