The fairs were organized for the fifth time at the Technology and Chemical Engineering Faculty on 25 November. The young talents from the West Pomeranian University of Technology are considered attractive to enterprises based both in and outside the region.
The career opportunities offered by our company depend on whether one is willing to work. Theory may always be accompanied by practice, which is not offered by the university, says Anna Srokowska, HR Specialist at Faurecia Gorzów, a car accessories manufacturer. By completing the internship program we offer, one may get prepared for the role of a full-time employee. In the meantime, interns are promoted to higher positions, she adds.
A similar program is offered by Elektrobudowa based in Katowice. One may train as an intern in the company’s branches located across the country, to include Elektrownia Dolna Odra in Gryfino. Interns work shoulder to shoulder with our top specialists, five days a week for three months, and are paid for their job. We assume that they will stay with us, says Joanna Bednarska, Chief HR Specialist, Elektrobudowa SA. The company, which is among the leaders in the Polish electric energy sector, offers also measurement and commissioning assistant jobs. Such a position will be held, among others, by Patryk Bohatyrewicz, a student of the electrical engineering faculty at the West Pomeranian University of Technology. Patryk joined our company as an intern. Now, we’re waiting for him to graduate so that we may offer him an employment contract, says Joanna Bednarska.
Also local enterprises have opened their doors to students and graduates of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, who have been trained for years by such entities as Grupa Azoty or Animex Foods and developed their careers from interns to specialists. According to Agnieszka Grabia, HR Specialist, Animex Foods is looking for candidates willing to start work at its manufacturing and technical departments.
Piotr Kmieciński representing Mobica is a graduate of the West Pomeranian University of Technology himself. He joined the company two and a half years ago and works as a senior software developer. The Szczecin branch hires more than 120 people at present and is constantly growing. It needs programmers and testers. Programmers are also needed by BrightOne, RayNet, Dansk Supermarked shared service center, Pixel Legend or Sagra Technology. The last one is also looking for analysts. We have recently hired 30 people. The number of our employees has reached almost 80, notices Adrian Sławniak, Team Manager and Senior Software Developer, Sagra Technology.
There is also a demand for engineers. Radiometer, a manufacturer of blood analyzers, is offering new career opportunities to ten people in Stargard, where it has just launched a new lab. According to Karolina Rainczuk, HR Specialist, they will work in the manufacturing, R&D tests and building infrastructure departments. Engineering technicians are also searched for by DGS located in Mierzyn.
Both personnel consulting and full-time/temporary job agencies were present at the Career Job Fairs. Also such organizations as AIESEC or IAESTE, which offer the opportunity to gain invaluable experience during international internship programs, were represented.
The educational program of the fairs was quite broad. One could obtain advice from experts in career planning, labor law, employment abroad or take part in programming workshops.
