The Regional Park in Gryfino covers over 160 hectares of industrial areas. They are located near Gardno, next to the S3 road. Over 55 hectares is part of the Kostrzyn-Slubice Special Economic Zone. This means that the companies investing in the Park with be exempt from CIT and real property tax. The owner of the real property intended for commercialisation is the Agricultural Property Agency.

The Gryfino municipality provided the Park with utilities – roads, water and telecommunication. The project cost over PLN 35 million, with over PLN 16 million from the Regional Operational Programme. Artutr Malec, President of the Kostrzyn-Slubice Special Economic Zone emphasises that one of the assets of the Gryfino Sub-zone, apart from the media, is great location.

This is confirmed by Mariusz Batura, President of Gotech, which delivers steel structures and installations for power plants. Its clients – power generation companies – are located mainly in Germany and Scandinavia. The company has already signed a letter of intent to erect a plant in the Park in Gryfino.

“We hope that the transfer of production to Gardno will help us grow. We are already partners to companies from Western Europe. We know that Poland will soon have to invest in power generation, but we also hope for more orders from Scandinavia. Currently, we participate in the construction of a nuclear plant in Finland,” says Mariusz Batura.

Waldemar Pawlak said during the opening ceremony that the government will try to use the crisis to negotiate longer, even unlimited, periods for the operation of special economic zones. The Deputy Prime Minister said that the government’s strategy it to send goods abroad and keep people in Poland, not the other way round.

Mayor of Gryfino Henryk Piłat announced more investment projects. He promised invitations to the opening of newly developed four hectares of land by the river in the town centre. This will revive tourism in Gryfino.
