With the opening of the new manufacturing and testing station the business of KK-electronic is expanding. The traditional products of the Szczecin plant include electrical control panels, command & control boxes and switchgears. Thanks to the new investment project, complete control systems for wind parks, i.e. the so-called power units, will be made and tested by kk-electronic Polska. Siemens Wind Power is to be the first recipient of the products.

The expansion of the company’s business activity will necessitate hiring new employees.  At present KK-electronic Polska employs about 350 persons who assemble electrical control panels for wind turbines. “Broadening our manufacturing scope will require higher skills, so we plan to employ more engineers to design and test electrical systems – explains Przemysław Szczepaniak, the head of kk-electronic Polska.

“We found the Polish market to be of interest to us because we were looking for well-educated employees with good technical skills. We discovered precious human capital in Szczecin.  The operations of the Company expanded over the ten years of our presence here, and opening a new manufacturing and testing site proves that we are still growing and going stronger”-  said Tommy Jespersen, a management board member of kk-electronic Polska.    “It was crucial for us to locate the new investment near the city that offers us competent workforce” adds Przemysław Szczepaniak.  “We plan to continue our cooperation with West Pomeranian University of Technology – currently circa 99 per cent of our staff have completed their studies there; we will have even more jobs for the graduates in future.”

The opening of the new station in Szczecin Dąbie was accompanied by an artistic event during which Monika Szpener – a sculptor and Piotr Ledóchowski – an interior designer created a dozen or so unconventional artistic structures such as a sofa, a table, a stool, an armchair, benches and lamps - all with the use of recycling materials left over by the company's factory (cables, wooden and plastic cable reels, connectors, adapters, foams and electrical boxes).

The Polish branch of the Danish company - kk-electronic was opened in Szczecin in 2003. Its activity mainly focuses on renewable energy - the company produces switchgears and control panels, control and steering systems and accessories for wind turbines.  kk-electronic is a leading producer of such equipment – more than 18,000 wind turbines operating all over the world benefits from kk-electronic’s expertise and over 50 per cent of all hydro wind turbines use kk-electronic steering systems.

Siemens Wind Power - one of the global leaders of wind power plants is the main recipient of the company’s switchgears and steering systems. The components manufactured in Szczecin will be shipped to Siemens plants in Denmark, the U.S. and China, and from there - together with turbines  - they will be exported further, among others to Germany, the UK, Canada or South Korea, and recently also to New Zealand and Morocco. The products of kk-electronic are also used in Poland, but their incorporation into turbines takes place abroad.
