Danish Coloplast providing medical products and services opens an accounting centre in Szczecin

The so-called Shared Services Centre will provide accounting services for the group companies located e.g. in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland.
The Szczecin Centre will be officially opened in April 2010 as Coloplast Shared Services. Until July 2010 the centre will operate in a temporary office at al. Wojska Polskiego (Pentagon). Afterwards, it will move to a new office building, Oxygen, which is being erected at ul. Malczewskiego. By the end of the next year, the company plans to hire 50 persons. The company is looking for economics graduates specializing in accounting issues with a command of English and German.
Allan Kjer, the director of Coloplast Shared Services said at a press conference about the new investor in Szczecin that the new Centre had had 60 potential locations.
“We are happy that Szczecin is becoming more and more attractive for investors. In these hard times it is the second large company that opens a services centre in Szczecin,” said Piotr Krzystek, the City’s Mayor.
Coloplast was established by a nurse, Elise Sorensen, in 1954 and is now a global supplier of medical products and services. It specializes in ostomy care, urology and wound healing and skin care products. Production takes place in Denmark, Hungary, USA, China and France and the products are available worldwide. The Company supplies hospitals as well as wholesalers and retailers. Total sales in 2008/2009 amounted to EUR 1.2 billion. Coloplast employs the total of 7 thousand people all over the world.
