3Shape Poland has increased its output

Modern dental lab scanners made in Szczecin are used in dental offices all over the globe. With the extension of the production plant at ul. Zapadła, scanner manufacturing will increase by 40%.

3Shape - the producer of medical equipment from Denmark - has extended its dental scanner plant in Szczecin by adding a second floor to the building located at ul. Zapadła.   Approximately 5 thousand (soon to be become 8 thousand) of modern CAD/CAM machines to be used in dentistry, orthodontics, implantology and in audio industry are manufactured there every year.  The equipment produced in Szczecin is sold worldwide, and it is used in about one hundred dental offices in Poland .
At the end of October 2015 the floor space of the production facility increased from 2.5 thousand square meters to almost 5 thousand s. q.
 
“Counting all the costs  - both those planned and those incurred so far - 3Shape corporation will have laid out the minimum of PLN 2-3 million on improvement and modernisation of the Polish facility,” says Łukasz Kurzątkowski, operating director, 3Shape Poland. “We intend to increase the production of Trios3 intraoral scanners threefold, up to 150 items a week, and improve the production capacity in the scope of lab scanners and accessories for dental labs. Our third objective is to launch production of a new CBCT scanner model called X1.  
 
Even this year the output of the plant will go up from 400 to 600 pieces of equipment per month. Assembly of new models will start at the beginning of the next year.  The company plans to manufacture several hundred X1 scanners per year.  
 
3Shape subsidiary in Szczecin plans to generate the gross revenue of PLN 11.8 million in 2016.   This year the revenue should reach over PLN 6 million. There are 154 individuals in the company’s employ, and 25 – 30 more will be hired by the end of the year, with more recruitment to take place next year.
 
“We are searching for people to work in the production division as well as for quality and process engineers, production specialists, mechanical engineers, software and equipment testers and other experts,” adds the company’s director.
