The investor is Tomasz Stencel, owner of construction companies in Poland and Scandinavia. Mr. Stencel bought a minority interest in Pixel Legend for a million euro. Pixel Legend's registers name him as Svensk Fonsterrenovering Sp. z o.o. (with headquarters in Goleniów), commercial proxy, member of the Management Board and CFO. The majority of interest remains in the hands of the founder and CEO of Pixel Legend − Mr. Jan Filipowiak.

“We were talking with investors for a year and a half, but the last six months, during which we agreed on the business model, were crucial. Once we focused on developing a product for architects, construction companies and visual studios investors themselves got interested and contacted us. At the final stage we negotiated with five investment funds, four from Poland and one from the UK,” says Mr. Filipowiak.

The funds will be used to develop the Emb3d visualisation platform which will help architects and visualisation studios turn 3D projects into an interactive walk in real places. The platform works with tablets, VR headsets and augmented reality user interfaces. With the application the viewers may watch scenes reflecting actual reality on their mobile devices, e.g. office decoration in an unfinished room or a completed building in an empty construction site. This will help e.g. sell a piece of real property.

The first version of the editor enabling fast and independent project development will be ready next year. “Mobile device displays are ready and used by our clients. We are planning to master the application and launch the first version of the cloud to store the designs this year. The next stage, once the application will work on VR devices, will be shortening of the time to develop the visualisation,” says Mr. Filipowiak.

Pixel Legend and several selected architectural and construction companies are currently testing the pilot version of the platform. One of them is Skanska.

The Emb3d platform will be available for a subscription. Projects will be edited by Pixel Legend's staff and visualisation studios they recommend. The average cost of an outdoor scene is approx. PLN 12 thousand, flat − approx. PLN 5 thousand, depending on the level of detail.

The company's flagship product is Pastguide, i.e. a demo display with the medieval scenery of the main square in Kraków. The application, available at www.pastguide.com has been already downloaded by 1.5 thousand tourists. Apart from their own products Pixel Legend designs tailored applications. Costs of this services range from several dozen to several hundred thousand zlotys. Currently Pixel Legend hires 12 employees.
