210 k square metres of liquid natural gas has arrived on board the vessel Al Nuaman from Qatar which marks the second supply of LNG to the newly-built terminal ever. The load is equivalent to about 130 M square metres of uncompressed natural gas. It will take three days to discharge the entire load.

The first supply of LGN required for the test run of the new Świnoujście LNG terminal arrived on December 11, 2015. “Test runs of the regasification system and natural gas transmission to end users began on January 7th. At the same time, phase two began, consisting in tweaking individual elements of the Terminal which included optimising and stabilising the regasification process”, informs Maciej Mazur, director of the communication office at Polskie LNG, the investor in the gas terminal.

“Once the test runs are completed, all required permits are in place and the LNG Terminal has official approval of the general contractor, the infrastructure will be ready for commercial natural gas supplies”, adds Maciej Mazur.

The LNG Terminal in Świnoujście has been designed to receive, regasify and distribute up to 5 bn. sq. m. of gas a year to the Polish industrial network. PGNiG, which is an agent under the supply agreement with Polski LNG, will receive LNG on the basis of a 20-year contract which provides that Qatargas Operating Company Limited will supply the terminal with a billion tonnes of LGN a year.
