Remondis Szczecin in a new location

A new PLN 42 million office of the waste recycling company was opened on 30 December 2013.

The company has been moved to Janina Smoleńska 'Jachna' Street. The new street connects Bronowicka Street with Huzarów Street in the Gumieńce district, running along the wall of the new municipal cemetery.

Remondis Szczecin has built a new office equipped with all facilities and devices necessary to manage waste recycling, street cleaning and winter maintenance. The new 5 ha area includes an amenity and office building, a facility producing alternative fuel delivered to a power plant in Schwedt (Germany), a raw materials sorting plant, a waste warehouse, a garage, a specialist car parks, refuelling points and selective waste collection area, where people can leave used electric and electronic devices at a convenient time and free of charge.

The investment project was financed with own funds (PLN 17 million) and a bank loan (PLN 25 million). The project was managed by a Szczecin company – Calbud.

The company had no choice but to develop new offices, as a 20 year agreement for the lease of land located at 56, Żołnierska St. expired at the end of the year. The land had been leased by Rethmann, and then by Remondis, since 1993.

‘Thanks to the location change, our operations are no longer onerous for the citizens of Szczecin. The key problem was the movement of our 50 trucks in operation. Thanks to filters located in production halls, unpleasant smells no longer escape out buildings’ explains Ronald Laska, the Chairman of the Management Board, Remondis Szczecin.
