The investment constitutes a part of the project of modernizing the combined heat and power plant -  elektrociepłownia II (ECII).  After the completion of the works in 2015,  Z. Ch. “Police” S.A. will be able to significantly reduce emission of gases into the atmosphere; the plant will also comply with the high standards imposed by the European Union.

“This is an important investment project that will cost us PLN 163.7 million. It shows that Zakłady Chemiczne „Police” S.A. feel wholly responsible for the state of the natural environment,” said Krzysztof Jałosiński, the president of “Police” S.A. during the ceremony of laying the cornerstone.  “The new combustion gas treatment unit will reduce the emissions of sulphur oxide, nitrogen oxide and dust into the atmosphere enabling us to meet the exacting EU norms.”

”The European Union defines environmental protection requirements which are especially important for companies conducting their business within the industries that have the potential of generating a lot of pollution,” said Jerzy Buzek.   “I am really pleased that an important Polish Company such as Zakłady Chemiczne „Police” S.A. has decided to limit its impact on the natural environment.      Thanks to it our children and grandchildren will be able to live in healthy environment in Poland.     The modernisation of the existing infrastructure in ECII will focus on two boilers and the construction of a combustion gas treatment unit composed of   fuel gas denitrification and desulfurization units for boilers.
