A mini-brewery, pub, restaurant, theatre house and even a playroom for kids will be found in the newly renovated building that now houses the Rocker club.

The building and the club are owned by Hoker company. Thanks to the work done on the exterior, the building already seems to have regained some of its old splendour, but the interior works are still in progress. The brewery to be located in the cellar will most probably constitute the main theme and the whole facility will be named after it. The beer brewing equipment will be installed this summer, and first customers might be able to have a beer there later this year – it all depends on how fast all alcohol-brewing formalities will be completed.

“We have been inspired by the convivial atmosphere of German Biergatens, and we hope to recreate it - at least partially – here in Szczecin.  Obviously, fresh, unpasteurised beer is a must. We are now in the process of developing recipes with brewing specialists – our ideas are derived from German and Czech beer making traditions” – says Rafał Kaczmarek, the co-owner of Hoker.

Customers will be able to order Polish and German dishes to go with their beer, but they can also opt for a pizza from a wood-fired oven.  The owners promise affordable prices and best-quality fresh products. “We would like our place to become the favourite haunt for Szczecin inhabitants, a place where no one is worried about footing the bill. We sincerely hope that this factor will also contribute to the success of our project” - he adds.

A theatre that can hold up to 200 persons will also be created in the building. The owners would like one of the Szczecin theatres to take command of it, but they also want to invite other artists to give their performances there.
The first floor will house a playroom. While parents watch a play or enjoy their dinner/ evening beer, the young ones will take part in workshops or other creative classes.

The value of the investment equals PLN 14 million. Some of the money will be derived from EU grants - among others, the European Regional Development Fund has provided 2 million PLN for the brewery launch.  Currently the refurbishing works are still in progress.
