Bosman rounds up the year 2013 and will soon enter the busy summer season when, as a rule, beer sales soar.
Last year Bosman sold 194 million bottles, 61 thousand kegs and 132 million cans. The Company’s undercapacity (approx. 2.3 million hectolitres) results from the fall in the production and sales of kegged beer.
The Szczecin brewery manufactures beer under the following brands: Bosman, Kasztelan, Piast and Harnaś. The concern is unwilling to disclose the quantities sold under individual brands, but boasts of being the sales leader in West Pomerania thanks to the Bosman brand distributed in the northern and western Poland.
“Every third beer purchased in our province is Bosman, and every second has been manufactured by Carlsberg Polska. Currently, radlers and unpasteurised beers are growing in popularity, whereas strong beers appear to have gone out of fashion.” – says Michał Gotowała, Director of Bosman.
In 2014 the company is planning to uphold its market position in West Pomerania, even though this may prove rather difficult to accomplish, as the fall of beer sales in the province seems highest when compared to other Polish regions.
“The popularity of regional beer brands is waning, but Bosman has an exceptionally strong standing,” - says Michał Gotowała. “This year Bosman’s logo will be visible, inter alia, at the Pogoń Szczecin Stadium and during the Slav and Viking Festival in Wolin.”
Over the years 2009-2013 Calsberg Polska outlaid PLN 16.6 million on beer manufacturing in Szczecin. The money has gone into improving production quality, work safety and modernization of machinery fleet. Installing new machinery within the can line and equipping it with a set of transporters allowed the company to manufacture a wider line-up and improve the quality of beer products – it was the most important investment project of 2013. The brewery employs approx. 250 individuals
In 2013 the Polish branch of Carlsberg reached a record output – over 7 million of hectolitres. Carlsberg Polska beers are brewed in Brzesk, Szczecin and Sierpc, and the total employment in Poland has reached over 1300 staff. According to the data for 2013, Carlsberg Polska occupies the leading position in the Polish brewing industry with the market share of 20 percent. In terms of its size, Carlsberg is ranked the fourth brewery group in the world.
