Fashionable Szczecin

Awarded collection inspired by the Far East /SG/ Awarded collection inspired by the Far East /SG/

On Saturday evening of 6 March, we saw yet another edition of the Fashion Weekend - fashion trend hunters sat around the longest catwalk in Szczecin.

The event was held in the truck hall of the servicing complex Mercedes Mojsiuk. The crowds of guests were welcomed by Wojciech Miziewicz, director of advertising agency u.studio and organizers of the event Kazimierz Mojsiuk, chairman of Mojsiuk and the host, Dariusz Baranik. It soon turned out that the evening will be dominated not only by beautiful women but also luxurious cars. Miss Poland 2009, 22-year-old Anna Jamróz, wearing a dress by Szczecin designer Sylwia Majdan, presented a new Mercedes E Class Kombi and Mercedes E Class Cabrio.

China on top

The most important event of the evening was, however, selection of the best young designer, i.e. the final of the Gryf Fashion Show competition. The competition was entered by six designers from Poland, five women: Joanna Sosińska (Famme Fatal collection), Katarzyna Biskup (In the wonderland), Agnieszka Tokarska (My China), Anna Kałuża (Sand Rose) and Aleksandra Markowska (By a woman) and one man: Kamil Będkowski (Incognito).

The jury decided to award the statute of a Griffin to Agnieszka Tokarska from Krakow. Her collection was inspired by Far East. The designer said that the models presented her collection with original Chinese umbrellas. Will the award open the doors to the fashion world for the designer? We will see. One thing is sure: the winner received not only the Griffin, but also PLN 3 thousand from the organizers and additional PLN 2 thousand from designer Izabela Łapińska. The veteran designer who was a member of the jury invited Agnieszka Tokarska to assist her in her new collection which will be presented in Paris and in Warsaw.
