New Volvo XC90 has had its first public outing in Szczecin
Auto Bruno dealer has recently presented this luxury new-generation SUV in its showroom.
Auto Bruno – the approved Volvo dealer located at Pomorska street in Szczecin - invited approx. one hundred of its customers for the unveiling of XC90. Marcin Wyrostek, an accordion player, gave an exquisite performance at the gala. He played Argentine tangos, Italian classics as well as Scottish and Moldavian folk tunes - in other words, the music that is full of emotion, bravado and colour, just like the wonderful sensations that the new Volvo may produce.
XC90 markedly differs from the original 2002 version. The Swedish Volvo Group spent as much as 11 billion of U.S. dollars on designing state-of-the-art technological and environment-friendly solutions that have been incorporated into the car - from this perspective it is a breakthrough in the SUV sub-segment. “XC90 was well received among experts and journalists alike”, stresses Filip Wodziński, the head of the sales department in Auto Bruno.
The car has been constructed based on a new global SPA platform and it is almost 5 meters long - 14 centimetres longer than its predecessor. The more expensive option is additionally equipped with electronically controlled air suspension.
The environment-friendliness of the car is especially conspicuous when one looks closer at the engine and transmission system. Volvo has constructed a brand new 2.0-liter Drive-E four-cylinder engine. It might seem like not much for a car of this size, but the lowest possible XC90 engine power is 190 KM, whereas the highest – in hybrid vehicles with a system of energy retrieving – it is as much as 400 KM. What is more, XC90 uses electric power steering. In effect, driving the car is dynamic and the street performance is superb. SUV also boasts of being fuel-efficient – the official fuel economy numbers are as follows: approx. 9 l/100 km in the city and the average of 6 l/100 km on a national road.
Volvo claims to be especially committed to safety issues, so it has introduced many improvements to reduce or even avoid the number of traffic accidents. “The new version of the City Safety system includes an auto brake technology. Passengers are protected by boron steel construction – boron steel is highly durable and light. Furthermore, XC90 is equipped with other anti-crash mechanisms to protect other traffic participants”, adds Piotr Huegel, a new car sales specialist.
