Marta Małgorzata Matraszek, director, Oddział Okręgowy NBP in Szczecin
Marta Matraszek joined the National Bank of Poland, Economics Department, in July 1992. She has been working in banking supervision function since September 1992, when the function was established at the regional branch level. In July 1998, she joined Inspection Office in the General Inspectorate of Banking Supervision.
During the fifteen years of work in banking supervision, she was in charge of among others ongoing financial and economic standing of three to six cooperative banks (including monitoring of restructuring programmes implementation) and initiating supervision activities in case of their experiencing operating problems. She participated in a number of comprehensive inspections in cooperative banks and head offices of commercial banks, mostly in Warsaw, Poznań and Wrocław. Her key audit areas included capital adequacy, financial profit/loss, quality of assets, but she is also familiar with other banking risk areas, such as liquidity, interest rate, currency and operational risk. Lately, in view of importance of Basel II implementation, she carried audited the level of readiness for implementing the Basel II directives in banks.
She graduated from Economics Faculty of Szczecin University. She participated in a number of courses organized by the National Bank of Poland (often in cooperation with foreign lecturers) regarding broadly defined banking business. She participated in a three-month training programme regarding financial analysis of banks carried out in the U.S., and including internship in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which she regards as a very valuable experience.
She is single. Her hobby is interior design. She likes spending time outdoors and is a keen supporter of development of both the city of Szczecin and the region.
