The Gala and the Contest
Winners of the Business Contest of the President of Szczecin were awarded during the Super Gala of the Northern Business Chamber (Północna Izba Przemysłowa)
The event, organized on 5 June at Wały Chrobrego, gathered several hundred entrepreneurs both from the larges regional companies (PŻM, Port, Vobis) and micro-businesses. Traditionally, it attracted also management and commission members of the Northern Business Chamber. It was also visited by a number of politicians, including candidates to EU parliament. Leszek Miller, the former Prime Minister (SLD), signed copies of his book “Tak to było” (The Way It Was), and enjoyed popularity with those interested in photos with him.
The official part of the event was devoted to the results of Business Contest of the President of Szczecin. In micro-business category, the winner was BTC, a software producer from Szczecin. Enterso of Wojciech Kłodziński (also IT business) and Kwiaciarnia Grota of Joanna Neczaj (plants and flowers) were nominated to the award as well. In Small Enterprise category Tomasz Graf, the owner of Probud construction business, won the award. P.I. B. Askaldowicz (installation) and IAI-Shop. com SA (internet shop system) were his competitors. Among Medium Enterprises, Fosfan SA (fertilizer producer) won over Calbud and SGI Baltis (construction and development). Unizeto (IT business) was the best among large companies, with TietoEnator Polska (software producer) and KK-Electronic Polska (electronics) being the second and third. Unizeto was also awarded for innovation, winning over BTS and Vestas (wind farms). Paweł Szynkaruk, Director of Polsteam, won the Szczecin President’s Special Award.
The winners were appointed by a commission chaired by Professor Stanisław Flejterski. The city will promote the winner during a billboard campaign in Szczecin.
Dariusz Więcaszek, Chairman of the Northern Business Chamber, was also awarded during the Gala: Władysław Husejko, the Voivodeship Marshall, honored him with Gryf Pomorski Award.
When the official part closed, its participants were entertained by Bajm Band with Beata Kozidrak.
Those more interested in cars than in music could take the opportunity and ride a F1 simulator at Vobis stand or see a new model of Lexus, while fans of gambling could play black jack, roulette, or try special quality liquors provided by Polmos Szczecin.
