More companies have decided to move from Szczecin to Stargard
Apart from the planned relocation of Ottensten which we wrote about in our previous issues, two other companies – Scawir and Palisander – intend to move as well. Their new establishments will be opened later this year.

The investment projects will be initiated in March and in April. Ottensten – a company focused on distribution of tools used in building construction industry - will open its new Stargard logistic centre in September. We wrote about that investment in our article: Ottensten moves from Szczecin to Stargard.
Scanwir will start operations in Stargard Industrial Park at the end of the year. The company diagnoses, repairs and modernizes various types of machines. For some time now it has also been producing specialized machining elements that are tailored to the specific needs of its customers. Scanwir provides services to large concerns, such as Ikea Industry.
For the past ten years Scanwir was seated at ul. Narzędziowa in Szczecin-Dąbie – the company had approx. 400 square meters there and it employed 15 people. The new establishment will cover the area of 1200 square meters and it will give employment to 10 new specialists. Specifically, Scanwir is searching for constructors, mechanics, specialists in automatics and mechatronics. “Our plan is to design and construct industrial machines – we intend to set up a research and development unit too," states Łukasz Wojtkun, co-owner of the company.
“When we were planning to expand we realized that Szczecin did not provide opportunities in this regard to companies of our size. On the other hand in Stargard we were offered better conditions even at the stage of negotiations,” he adds. The new building will cost PLN 3.7 million.
Palisander intends to move from Stargard to Stargard Industrial Park at the turn of 2016 and 2017. Palisander is a small company that has been operational for 8 years. Today it disposes of 800 square meters of warehouse space. Its business mainly focuses on assembly of wooden terraces, elevations and various other structures, such as warehousing and sports arenas, and it delivers projects all over Poland.
In Stargard Industrial Park Palisander intends to erect a warehouse shop, a dryer, office space and a store (inter alia, selling wood) with the total area of 1400 square meters. Bartłomiej Jaroszyński, the company’s owner, is planning to extend the scope of Palisander’s business activity and he has already bought specialized equipment for that purpose – a planing machine and a press for gluing wooden elements. "We intend to manufacture semi-finished products for our own needs. We also want to include in our offer good-quality, reasonably priced glued laminated wood,” he adds. The plan is to start with hiring ten new people (currently, the company has 4 employees) – ultimately, the company will employ 20 individuals.
Bartłomiej Jaroszyński intends to invest one million zlotys. “Without the assistance of the Local Development Agency in Stargard and the Loan Suretyship Fund I would not be able to commence business in Stargard Industrial Park. I also have a pool of potential employees in close proximity, because there is a secondary technical school specializing in woodwork in Stargard,” he says.
More than 50 various entities operate in Stargard Industrial Park, among them: Backer OBR, Klippan Safety Polska, Isoler, Van Heyghen Stal Polska, Eurocash. The park is situated in the northwestern part of the town and it covers the area of approx. 150 hectares.
