The company has been operating from the Oxygen office building at ul. Malczewskiego 26 since April, but the official inauguration took place on May, 11. The company employs 50 people. The employees of DGS BS will have many opportunities – they will be able to take part in international projects launched in close cooperation with Willian Demant in Denmark. “Our accountants and business analysts will be responsible for the financial processes in the companies from various European countries which make up the WD group”, says  Maciej Prusinowski, Director of DGS BS.  On the other hand, the medical products’ quality assurance and legal compliance specialists will support the William Demant group in the process of generating quality documentation.  “Generally, such tasks are performed by specialists located in the company’s headquarters  , and offering this kind of support as part of the shared services’ centre is a unique solution”, he adds.
Svend Thomsen, Vice-President for Finance at William Demant, Sveinn Sölvason, Össur’s CFO, Krzysztof Kowalski, CEO at DGS Poland and the representatives of the town authorities took part in the opening gala.
DGS Business Services is a spin-off of DGS Poland - a company that has been operating in Szczecin since 2007.  The company’s dynamic growth is confirmed by the fact that it not only has successfully developed the processes of manufacturing advanced hearing aids and diagnostic equipment, but it also provides services in the area of IT, HR, software development, quality assurance, finance and logistics. Since 2007 DGS Poland has been performing services for the global William Dermant group.  The decision to establish DGS BS was taken by William Demant in consultation with the Icelandic group of Össur (an Icelandic company that develops, manufactures and sells non-invasive orthopaedics equipment).
“We selected certain areas of DGS Poland‘s activity to develop them in the form of a separate business centre that will provide services to companies from our Group. We are very satisfied with the professional skills and competencies of Polish employees and that is why we want to develop these spheres of our activity in Szczecin”, says Svend Thomsen, Vice-President for Finance, William Demant Group.
In addition, this year the company intends to hire 30 – 50 professionals: accountants, business analytics, software development specialists and quality experts. “We are looking for professionals with good command of English, but we will also be happy to engage new graduates – we are ready to provide them with the required training", explains Maciej Prusinowski, Director of DGS Business Services.  The company is also willing to take on IT specialists who will join an international research and development team that will create and test software for technologies to be utilised in state-of-the-art hearing aid devices and diagnostic equipment. The company is seeking cooperation with the regional universities and science centres and it plans to launch a student internship programme.
