Tokaji wines were offered to participants of the event organized on 22 May at Zamkowa (castle) restaurant in Szczecin.

The event aimed at promotion of Hungarian wines. Robert Kiss, the Hungarian Ambassador in Poland, was the guest of honor. Tokaji company is owned by the Hungarian Treasury, employs 170 people and sells 7.3 million bottles a year. Its promotion involves meetings with businessmen and VIP in various European cities. The promotion is subsidized by EU funds.

The Szczecin event was attended by executives of local companies, such as PCC or Polmos Szczecin. It was particularly popular among SLD politicians, including the Party Chairman Grzegorz Napieralski, a connoisseur of Hungarian wines.

Tokaji produces white wine from grapes growing in the Tokaj region exclusively. The offer includes both dry (a few types of Furmint) and sweet wine. Sweet Aszu, produced from manually picked grapes, is the top quality product offered by Tokaji. Its unique quality comes from mold growing on some grapes, tuff on which they grow and storing in special barrels, which provide the wine with extraordinary pallet of microelements. Until 1968, the wine was sold in Hungarian pharmacies and was classified as a medicine.
