On 7 May 2015 a plant belonging to the Belgian Telemond Holding group officially launched its business.

The building construction of the Teleyard plant situated in the area of Kostrzyńsko-Słubicka Special Economic Zone, at Stołczyńska street (38 out of 40 ha of the SEZ is owned by Teleskop, and Teleyard is a daughter-company of Teleskop) began at the end of 2013. The first stage of the investment costing approx. EUR 10 million, i.e. erection and equipping the welding facility which includes a paint shop, amenities, offices and a car park covering the area of 13 thousand square meters, was closed at the turn of January and February. Today more than 100 persons work here, mainly welders, assemblers and engineers. The number of employees is expected to double by the end of the year – the company is searching for welders, locksmiths/welders, grinders, welding engineers, storemen). Mariusz Kurkierewicz has been appointed the director of the plant.

According to the plans, all buildings will have been completed by 2022. The investor intends to build more production halls and a 100-meter long wharf - the total outlays will equal EUR 20 million. Ultimately, the company will employ 1,000 persons, but all is conditional upon cooperation with Cargotec, i.e. the company for which Teleyard manufacturers container crane subassemblies.

In addition, a welder training centre will be established as part of the project, and the company  will cooperate with universities –  the Maritime University of Szczecin and West Pomeranian University of Technology.

The investment project was carried out thanks to the assistance received from the Regional Operation Programme for West Pomerania: 2007-2013. The funds derived from the Programme in the amount of PLN 4.7 million enabled to restore Stołczyńska street in Szczecin and build almost one and a half kilometre of road to the plot of land.

Teleyard Sp. z o.o. represents the sector of maritime and container transport. The company is a member of the Belgian Telemond Holding group headquartered in Antwerp. It has been present in Poland for over 13 years and its first projects took place in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, i.e. Teleskop’s home town. Before Teleyard moved to Stołczyn, for three years it operated in leased production halls belonging to the former Szczecin shipyard.
