Beginning from Friday, West Pomeranian food producers will promote their products at International Food, Agriculture and

Horticulture Fair Grüne Woche 2015 held in Berlin.

Among many specialties of the local cuisine, fair guests will taste smoked salmon from Gospodarstwo Rybackie Zielenica and gingerbread cookies from Szczecin.  The Polish participants will include Stary Sad, a manufacturer of fruit juice from Drawsk County, Bohun, a meat producer from Szczecin, Pasieka Miody Jana from Cedynia and Gospodarstwo Pasieczne Buckfast from Pojezierze Choszczeńskie.  Typical Polish dishes, such as żurek (rye flour soup) or pierogi (stuffed dumplings) shall be presented, too.

“For food manufacturers around the world, Grüne Woche is a major event. In Berlin, one can taste cuisines of a variety of regions and learn state-of-the-art technological solutions used in agriculture”, said Jarosław Rzepa, Vice Marshall of Zachodniopomorskie Province.  “Exhibitors have a unique opportunity to promote our regional dishes.  West Pomerania has been present at the event since 2003. Our active, long-term presence has resulted in a number of trading contacts which have indirectly contributed to economic growth of rural areas", he added.

Grüne Woche 2015 will end on Sunday, 25 January.  Stands will be located at Messe Berlin, with  West Pomeranian stand of 36 square meters in Hall 11.2.

This will be the 80th edition of this fair, one of the most important industry events around the world.  It will attract 671 exhibitors from 69 countries.

Leisure and tourism

West Pomerania will have its stand at Boot 2015 in Düsseldorf. The fair shall last from 17 to 25 January.
Our stand will occupy 120 square meters and present our partnering regions with brochures, catalogues, maps and guides devoted to yachting, to include Zachodniopomorski Szlak Żeglarski (West Pomeranian Yachting Course).  The presentation shall be organized under the project “MARRIAGE - better marina management, harbor network consolidation and water tourism marketing in southern Baltic rim” financed by the EU.

Two weeks of the event close, West Pomerania will participate in another fair organized in Germany.  It shall share a stand with Zachodniopomorska Regionalna Organizacja Turystyczna (West Pomeranian Regional Tourism Organization) from Szczecin and present our regional offer at Reisen tourism fair to be held on 4-8 February in Hamburg.

Along with local self-government, the region will be promoted by hotel owners: Puchacz Spa Niechorz, Sandra Spa Pogorzelica, Pałac Rymań, Villa Del Mar Niechorz, Aurora Hotel Międzyzdroje, as well as representatives of Świnoujście and Kołobrzeg resorts.

Other European events with our participation will include Salon des Vacances in Brussels to be held on 5-9 February.  We will present the regional offer with special focus on active leisure, golf clubs and cultural events.
