This year, the company extended the term of its contract with the Azoty Group for another three years. Liquid and loose fertilizers sold by the chemical giant’s companies from Police and Puławy to end clients are transported under the aforesaid contract. On that occasion, a new vessel was purchased by the shipowner. A small bulk carrier named Thopas, with deadweight capacity of 3366 tons, was built in 1994.

 

This ship is already used to handle contracts in progress. It goes on European routes from Gdynia, Gdańsk, Police and Szczecin to Scandinavia, England and Western Europe, says Arkadiusz Wójcik, Chairman of the Management Board of Unibaltic.

 

The second vessel bought last May is a chemical tanker built in 1999, with deadweight capacity of 4480 tons, which will be named Aragonith in the Unibaltic fleet. It should be commissioned as of the end of July, which will translate into more efficient handling of the existing contracts on the Baltic and North Sea. Its first voyage will be from Morocco to France to carry a load of phosphoric acid, says the CEO.

 

The company’s growth focuses on new destinations.

 

We have been extending the terms of contracts signed with existing clients in addition to acquiring new customers from the region of the Baltic and North Sea as well as North Africa. More ships means that we are better suited to expand the scope of our destinations. We go more frequently to Spanish ports in the Mediterranean Region, which is another major market we’re planning to break into, announced Arkadiusz Wójcik.

 

At the same time, Unibaltic has been paying close attention to its own backyard, i.e. two large West Pomeranian investments in the chemical industry, namely construction of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście and a propylene plant in Police.

 

Unibaltic Sp. z o.o. is a private shipping company established in 2003. At present, its fleet consists of ten ships (eight chemical tankers and two bulk carriers, which are relatively small vessels). Sea freight transport of liquids and bulk products between European ports is the core business of the company. The scope of services offered by Unibaltic includes comprehensive agency services related to ships in Polish ports and shipyards, complete logistics services, including freightage, as well as intermediation in organization of repairs and broadly defined vessel supply services.

 

In 2005, a sister company operating under the name of Unibaltic Agro was established. Its core business includes sales and distribution of liquid fertilizers as well as Flexi Tanks that are necessary for their storage. The company’s head office is located at ul. Tama Pomorzańska in Szczecin. A branch of Unibaltic was also established in Gdynia in 2005.

 

Unibaltic has frequently been awarded and recognized. Arkadiusz Wójcik received the “2013 Business Pearl” award in the Business Personality category for efficient management of the company.
