The management of the company informed the public about its investment plans during a press conference. Considering the annual output, i.e. 400 thousand tons, the pant in Police will become the largest propylene works in Europe (two other plants currently operate in Belgium and Spain).

There are plans to include the area of the new investment in the territory of a special economic zone, as it will allow the investor to take advantage of tax credits - Grupa Azoty is now in the process of negotiating this possibility with the management of two special economic zones.

Propylene is produced using the PDH method from LPG gas (propane / butane) which will be delivered to the port in Police by sea (now the port is mainly utilized for the needs of a chemical company).

To facilitate gas offloading, tanks with the capacity of 60 thousand cubic meters will be erected in the port  The finished product will be transported in barges via inland waters. Germany, which needs 850 thousand tons of propylene per annum and  Zakłady Azotowe w Kędzierzynie belonging to to Grupa Azoty (150 thousand tons of propylene per annum) will be among the most important customers of the plant.
