The projects value is ca. PLN 100 million. The Galaxy shopping mall shall be extended by approx. 18,000 sq. m., 200 shops and 1,500 parking places.

 

“The investment has already started, water supply and sewage pipes are being rearranged now. By the end of April, the core and shell constructor shall be selected. Tenders for the remaining works are pending”, says Jacek Bugajski, Project Manager, Shopping Mall Department, Echo Investment.

 

The extension design has been developed by Open Architekci. The new section of the mall has been designed as a large court with the central square roofed with a glass dome, which will fill the interior with natural light. It will be surrounded by large, two-story shops of renowned fashion brands, with ten-meter-tall window shops.

 

 “The extension to nearly 60,000 sq. m. of rental space will give us a significant competitive advantage. Today Auchan Hypermarket supported with a broad shopping offer and the entertainment center are the things that make us stand out among competitors. The future offer shall be enriched with catering. New restaurants will open following the extension, and the entertainment zone shall be equipped with a large, modern fitness club called Fabryka Formy”, says Marek Gładki, Director, Commercialization and Marketing Team, Shopping Mall Department, Echo Investment.

 

The investor has already signed agreements with some key lessees, so 55 percent of the new space has been rented already. The investment will include elevation renewal on the entire facility and reorganization of traffic around it (the plans include extending Borysza Street to Matejki Street).

 

The Galaxy shopping mall was opened over 12 years ago. At present it occupies 42,000 sq. m. and houses 170 shops. The annual number of shoppers reaches 11 million. It was designed by OTH and in 2013 obtained BREEAM In-Use certificate.
