This year the citizens of Szczecin will have a chance to enjoy live concerts of world music stars. Two concerts are planned in the Szczecin Philharmonic Hall: Diego El Cigala with his band – on 26 October at 19:00 and “Irish Christmas” by Moya Brennan - on 14 December at 19:00.

Diego El Cigala is considered the most outstanding flamenco singer of our times by Paco de Lucia. He has been nicknamed El Cigala by the legendary flamenco singer Camarón.

El Cigala began his solo career in 1994. His “Lágrimas negras" (2003) recorded with a Cuban pianist, Bebo Valdes (85) won him international acclaim and recognition among music critics. His discography includes eight albums and a number of prestigious awards, including two Grammy and five Latin Grammy awards.

With his highly emotive voice Diego El Cigala skilfully merges various kinds of music. He creatively mixes flamenco with tango, bolero and traditional Latin music, combining tradition with modern art.

Moya Brennan is an Irish singer collaborating with a local band Clannad since its formation in the 70s. She is also Enya’s elder sister.

Moya Brennan started a solo career in 1992. She recorded 10 solo albums, including “Whisper to the Wild Water” (1999) nominated to the Grammy award. The voice of Moya Brennan has become widely recognisable thanks to numerous successes of Clannad, such as "Magical Ring" album, soundtrack from a British television miniseries "Harry's Game” (also used in a movie “Patriot Games”), soundtrack from “The Last of the Mohicans” and “Robin of Sherwood”, and a song performed with Bono "In A Lifetime". It is the lead singer of U2 who said that the Brennan had the voice of an angel.

The artist will play a concert entitled "Irish Christmas" composed of Irish and international carols as well as the greatest hits of Clannad.
